If you ever travel the A413 past Amersham, take some time to notice a row of houses which wind up the hill. These house appear to date back the 20's/30's, and stand out due to their all white exterior. The design of the properties are typically Deco. Very angular, but clean lines, the use of large glass areas and modern materials (of the time). The row of houses stand complete and preserved. This must make them fairly unique.
We despatched our intrepid peeping Tom, Chevvy Paul, to investigate. Taking advantage of the spring sunshine and lack of leaves on the surrounding bushes, he took the mission too literally. Creeping about the gardens with his trusty box brownie to get these snaps. So if ever you look out in your garden and see a strange man with a camera, it's only Paul the Stalker, no friend of Ray the stalker!

This is the house at the top of the hill. Built in three wings, around a central staircase |
The central staircase, note the way the window frames match the rise in the staircase |
Another angle of this house |
The next house in the row. It seems to have some poor later modifications |

This one's a fabulous period piece |
Moving down the hill are the final two houses |
We like the sun terraces, which have been constructed to avoid being overlooked by those houses farther up the hill |
